This presentation discussed the key role that peers, sometimes known as Peer Recovery Support Specialists, play in opioid overdose prevention and recovery support. We will explore methods the Southern Plains Tribal Health Board is using to support and advocate for peer roles in Indian Country, including building peer networks and creating accreditation pathways. The session also examines how state, federal, and tribal partnerships are fundamental to this work.
