Seven Directions, a Center for Indigenous Public Health, stands in solidarity with our Black relatives. As an organization that focuses on health and well-being, we will take actions that align with demands from our relatives fighting for justice and for Black liberation. We condemn police / state-sanctioned violence and are in support of demands to fund community-based health and safety efforts. We support the call by Black Lives Matter for radical, sustainable solutions that protect and affirm Black lives. We resolve to work for justice for George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Tony McDade, and Ahmaud Arbery, along with the many others who have lost their lives due to police brutality and systemic racism.
