Indigenous Structural Determinants of Health

This module provides definitions of the structural determinants of health within and across tribal and urban Indian communities.

At the end of this module, attendees will be able to:

  • Recognize the impact of structural determinants on American Indian and Alaska Native communities.
  • Evaluate the difference and/or connection among structural determinants using case study examples.
  • Define the role that tribal sovereignty and tribal public health governance have on health in American Indian and Alaska Native communities.
