Postponed – Our Nations, Our Journeys Story Slam
We want to know: What does the future look like? How are we celebrating? What foods are we eating? What does grandma’s house feel like? We want to know what you think!
You will have four minutes to tell a story. Judges will select winners based on creativity and time. Registration to tell a story is limited to the first ten applicants.
*A StorySlam is a live storytelling competition where stories are told, not read.
This StorySlam will take place at the Our Nations, Our Journeys (ONOJ) Indigenous Public Health Forum. ONOJ is a one-and-a-half day forum designed for tribal and urban Indian public health leaders, professionals, and students to share knowledge and promising practices. To register for ONOJ visit indigenousphi.org/onoj
About Our Practice
The Seven Sacred Directions
Seven Directions was born from a desire to create greater connectivity across the many tribes, communities and organizations that have the health and wellness of American Indian and Alaska Native people at the heart of what they do. We are guided by the “seven directions” of practice: Integration & Holistic Wellness, Culture & Identity, Families & Communities, Respect for Sovereignty, Service, Indigenous Knowledge, and Tribal Governance.
The Seven Sacred Directions serve as an indigenous framework for presenting the strategic directions for the public health agenda.
