Data in AIAN OUD

In 2021, the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) Native American Program contracted Seven Directions to conduct a foundational review of data sources used to characterize American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) substance use. The purpose of this project was to catalog currently available data sources and identify limitations, barriers, gaps, and areas of improvement for meaningful and actionable AI/AN substance use data. Seven Directions conducted a web scan and interviews to answer the project objectives. In 2022, NIDA contracted Seven Directions to build on this work to further identify priority issues and promising practices within AI/AN substance use data. Written reports will be uploaded here when available.
